DIY: Floral Hair Clips
Celebrate Galentine’s Day by gifting your friends something truly unique and handmade. These gorgeous floral hair clips, made with fake flowers and barrette clips, bring a touch of springtime charm to any galentines gifts!
SUPPLIES:
Barrette clips
Artificial flowers (choose small blooms in your desired colors and styles)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Wire cutters (for trimming flower stems)
Scissors
Optional embellishments: Beads, pearls, or ribbons
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Choose Your Flowers
Select artificial flowers that fit the aesthetic you’re going for. Small roses, daisies, and baby’s breath work well for a delicate look, while larger blooms like peonies or sunflowers are good for singular statement pieces. Combine different types for a unique arrangement.
2. Prepare the Flowers
Use wire cutters to trim the stems of the flowers as close to the base as possible. This will create a flat surface, making it easier to glue them onto the barrette clip.
3. Arrange the Flowers
Before gluing, lay out the flowers on the barrette base to decide on your arrangement. You can create a symmetrical design, cluster the flowers for a full look, or keep it simple with one or two flowers.
4. Glue the Flowers
Using the hot glue gun, attach the flowers to the barrette clip. Start with larger flowers as the base, then layer smaller flowers and greenery on top for depth and dimension. Press each piece firmly for a few seconds to ensure it sticks.
6. Add Optional Embellishments
To add a little extra, add pearls, beads, or ribbons to enhance the design. Use small dabs of hot glue to secure these embellishments in place.
7. Let It Dry
Allow the glue to set completely for at least 30 minutes before handling the clip.
