Blog Submissions
Our blog celebrates longer-form creativity, storytelling, and the DIY spirit that defines our community. This is your space to dive deeper into ideas, projects, or personal experiences. Whether it’s an in-depth how-to guide, a heartfelt essay, a reflective story, or curated recommendations, we invite you to share your voice with our readers.
Please review the following submission guidelines to ensure your work aligns with our values and vision for the blog.
1. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Content Type:
We welcome diverse creative content, including:
DIY tutorials or guides
Personal essays or reflective stories
Long-form recommendations (books, podcasts, movies, etc.)
Collaborative interviews or features
Art, photography, or mixed media (with accompanying text)
Any other creative contribution that resonates with our community’s themes!
Length & Format:
Blog submissions should range between 500 and 1500 words to allow for more detailed exploration of your ideas.
Submissions can be text only or include accompanying visuals. If text only, Glue Girls will design a custom image to pair with your blog post.
Text-based submissions should be sent as a Word document or Google Doc.
For visual content (art, photography, etc.), please submit high-resolution images (300 dpi for print or 72 dpi for web) in PNG, JPEG, or PDF format.
Respect & Kindness:
Glue Girls is a space that celebrates creativity, inclusivity, and kindness. Submissions should reflect these values. Content that is offensive or disrespectful will not be accepted.
2. SUBMISSION CATEGORIES
Here are some ideas to inspire your blog submission:
DIY Tutorials: Share detailed instructions for craft projects that our community can follow. Highlight unique, innovative, or sustainable crafting methods.
Personal Stories or Essays: This could be stories about your journey with creativity, the importance of community, or how art and DIY projects have impacted your life.
Curated Recommendations: Suggest books, movies, or podcasts that inspire you, focusing on themes like creativity, sustainability, or self-expression.
Themed Content: Align your submission with the season, such as autumn crafts, back-to-school DIYs, or holiday gifting ideas.
Collaborative Features: Conduct interviews with fellow creators, spotlighting their work and unique perspectives.
Short-Form Submissions: For one page submissions or visual based submission such as collages or photography, please submit via our Zine Submissions.
3. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & EXPECTATIONS
Deadlines:
Submissions are due at least two weeks before the first of the month to be considered for that month’s publication. For example, for an April blog post, please submit by March 15th.
File Naming:
Use a clear file name for your submission, e.g., “DIY_Fall_Wreath_JaneC.docx” or “Creative_Journey_JaneC.jpg.”
Images:
If you’re submitting accompanying images, ensure they are high quality and properly formatted. This ensures your work looks its best on our blog.
Editing Rights:
Glue Girls reserves the right to make minor edits to submissions for clarity, formatting, or length. We’ll always honor the essence of your work and will consult with you about changes.
Original Work:
All submissions must be original. By submitting, you confirm that the content is your own and does not infringe on copyrights.

5. PRIVACY & DATA USAGE
We respect your privacy. Your personal information will only be used for managing your submission and related communications. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.
6. ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR SUBMISSION
Review Process: We’ll review all submissions within two weeks of the deadline. Selected contributors will be notified with details about the blog’s publication schedule.
Response Time: If you haven’t heard back within two weeks after the deadline, feel free to reach out for an update.
